GIVE AT CHECKOUT

GIVE AT CHECKOUT

Action :

At checkout, round up your total purchase value to the nearest Euro, in support of the SOS Villages d'Enfants charity

How it works :

From 20 October to 31 December 2014, Okaïdi, Obaïbi and ÏDKIDS stores will allow their customers to donate a few cents each time they make a purchase.

For this charity fund-raising operation, the ÏDKIDS Foundation will match the sum of all funds thus donated by customers between 20 October and 5 November 2015. 100% of the total will be donated to SOS Villages d'Enfants, a charity organisation which for the past 60 years has been providing long-term family-based care to children deprived of a home.

Our Give at Checkout program is part of ÏDKIDS' social commitment as expressed through its Act for Kids policy.

Benefits :

Help finance programmes assisting children in desperate situations.
Provide an opportunity for Okaïdi, Obaïbi and ÏDKIDS customers to help support this charity by donating a few cents on top of each purchase they make in stores.

Results :

Over 50,000 Euros have already been raised since the operation was first launched in 310 partner Okaïdi and ÏDKIDS stores.
The amount donated to the charity will enable it to fund a tutoring programme for struggling children at SOS Villages d'Enfants.


Playing For Change

Playing For Change

Action :

Okaïdi supports Playing for Change, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to develop musical programmes around the world.

How it works :

For the fourth year in a row, Okaïdi and Playing for Change are joining forces to share their values of optimism and solidarity through music. This year, the "Celebration" song has been remastered, sung and played by children from around the world, including Argentina, USA, Uganda, Spain and Mexico.
To support the organisation, Okaïdi has created special Collector's Edition T-shirts, the sale of which will help finance specialised music programmes and schools. Okaïdi will donate 1 Euro to Playing for Change for each T-shirt purchased.

Benefits :

9 countries have already collaborated with this musical exchange programme
€94,000 has been donated to the Playing for Change charity organisation
1200 children have been given access to music


LOVE KNIT

LOVE KNIT

Action :

Create a line of baby clothes produced in welfare-to-work centres, knit by hand in France by mothers in difficulty.

How it works :

Thanks to a partnership between ÏDKIDS Foundation, the Amitié Partage charity, and Phildar in Roubaix, women in desperate situations have been employed at a knitting workshop where they produce a line of "socially responsible" baby clothes.
The workshop has created baby clothes (ages 3 to 6 months) for Obaïbi from 2011 to 2013, and for Jacadi in 2014 and 2015.
The clothes were initially sold in an IDKIDS store in the north of France, and then online via the Jacadi website.

Benefits :

The goal is to help these desperate women build confidence so they can find, through their newly acquired skills, regular employment or qualifying training.

Results :

Since 2011, 20 women have joined this welfare-to-work programme. Nearly half of them have since found a training programme or employment thanks to this endeavour, which has been warmly supported by our customers.

How it works :

Every year at Christmas time since 2008, Oxybul Learn & Play offers customers an exclusive soft toy: for each soft toy purchased, €3 is donated to the SOS Villages d'Enfants association.

Benefits :

« SOS Villages d'Enfants was born from a simple and generous idea - to give children who are orphaned, abandoned or separated from their parents, the joy of growing up together within the warmth and safety of a new family life.

Over the years, the SOS Villages d'Enfants project has become firmly established in placing brothers and sisters together in children's villages, both in France and throughout the world.

Pour répondre toujours mieux aux besoins des enfants, la mission de SOS Villages d'Enfants s'est élargie avec des actions en faveur de la prévention de l'abandon, de l'éducation et de la santé. 

Results :

En 2012, plus de 11 500 peluches Achille la souris ont été vendues, permettant ainsi de rassembler 35 000 € pour l'association. En 2009, 2010 et 2011, les doudous Basile le chien, Charly l'ourson et Paco lapin avaient respectivement permis de récolter 45 000€, 25 000€ et 50 000€.

Action :

To encourage our customers to take part in clothes recycling.

How it works :

Since 2007, Okaïdi has run its Lovebag campaign twice a year. Green design bags (100% recycled) are given to customers and they are invited to bring their children's clothes which are no longer used back into the store.

Benefits :

The aim is to help the association Le Relais, which gives clothes a second lease of life whilst creating long lasting jobs.

Results :

Since the launch of the campaign, 200 tons of textiles have been collected..

Action :

Design environmentally friendly bags to be distributed in our stores

How it works :

For getting back to school, Okaïdi offers their customers a reusable bag for €1, made 100% from recycled plastic bottles.. It makes a great satchel for children or a handy bag for mums.

Oxybul also distributes re-usable carrier bags amongst its customers, made from recycled plastic bottles.

In the IDkids stores the bags distributed are designed using paper produced by forests managed by the PEFC organisation (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). The ink used is water based (solvent free).

Benefits :

We're strongly committed to the "Environment" aspect of our RESSEBraC concept (Entrepreneurial, Social, Societal and Environmental Responsibility of the Brands for Children).

Results :

The Okaïdi bag has been a big hit. In 4 weeks over 60,000 bags were sold in Europe. Further afield, 22 000 bags were ordered by our international stores.


Paco Lapin

L'avenir c'est nous

Action :

Distributing encyclopaedias from the "L\'avenir c'est nous" (We are the Future) collection and donating prizes for the competition run during the book\'s launch.

How it works :

Okaïdi bought and put on sale 10 000 copies of the "L'Avenir c'est Nous" encyclopaedia collection.

Other copies of the book were donated to schools in the Lille area through our employees or by giving them directly to the schools.

Okaïdi supplied 200 Okaïdi "Explorer" cardigans to reward children who took part in the launch competition when the book came out.

Benefits :

Incite children to play an active role in changing the world to make it better.

Results :

Of the 10 000 copies of the encyclopaedia :

  • 4 500 were sold in French speaking Okaïdi stores
  • 2 000 were donated by employees to schools in the Lille area
  • 1 500 were given to employees of the group
  • 2 000 will be donated to schools and hospitals.

SOS Madagascar

SOS Madagascar

Action :

Inviter les enfants à ramener les livres dont ils n’ont plus usage pour en faire don aux enfants de SOS Village d’enfants.

How it works :

Oxybul éveil et jeux a lancé une opération de récupération de livres pour enfants dans tous ses magasins, au profit de l’association SOS Villages d’Enfants.
Une quinzaine de collaborateurs s’est mobilisée pour trier les dons reçus.

Benefits :

4000 livres donnés à Madagascar et 3000 en France pour les enfants d'SOS villages d'enfants.

Results :

Au total, 12 000 livres ont été récoltés grâce à la générosité des clients. Les autres livres ont été donnés à des associations au service des enfants en France.
